Autodesk Inventor
Autodesk Inventor is a computer aided design application for 3D mechanical design, simulation, visualization and documentation. Inventor allows people to create prototypes that can accurately simulate the weight, stress, friction, driving loads, etc. of products and their components in a simulated 3D environment. People are able to make parts and see what will work/fit and what may have to be shaved off to fit it into a object.

- First Start with a 1 x 1 inch square.
- Extrude that in to a 1 x 1 x 1 inch cube.
- Make your first cut a .5 x .25 rectangle in the front of the cube. (As shown in First cut)
- Second cut is clearing out the top mid section and for that make a .5 x .5 square then extrude. (As shown in Second cut)
- Third cut is the clearing out the big space, make a .75 x .75 square on the side of the top and bottom and then extrude. (As shown in Third cut)
- Fourth is the angled tips at the top, for this you are going to make a triangle at the top and extrude that making sure it slopes off the shape. Then repeat to the other side. (As shown in Fourth cut)
Inventor is very cool in being able to make prototype objects and make 3D models. We were able to try different ways to make 3D shapes and objects then go through the very easy process of actually printing them out. It was fun and not complicated and with my prior experience it was a breeze in using the whole program and knowing what is the easiest way to get an object done.
